When your child is neurodiverse it can be overwhelming at times.

You need to advocate for your child, become an expert in their particular needs, support them and your other family members at home, then at some point you need to live your own life. Asking for help at any point in your journey into neurodiversity is essential and yet so many of us feel like we must do it all alone. Whether you're at the start of your journey having just found out your child is neurodivergent, or a seasoned pro, you need to build a support team around you. Having the right people close by, either in person or online, can relieve a huge amount of pressure. Having worked as an inclusion specialist for over a decade I can help you along the way in your journey.

Strategy Meetings

Perhaps you just want to sound out someone with experience in the system. Maybe you see your child struggling with something and don't know what to do next. Perhaps you're about to move to a new school and don't want to lose all the progress that's been made. We can talk and strategize so you come away with some new ideas, or new leads to follow

Communication Strategies

Knowing what to say and how to say it so others listen can be difficult. Knowing what questions to ask can be hard when you aren't part of the system. We can work together to create a cheat sheet or script for you to use when meeting with your school.

Document Creation

It gives schools something to refer back to after all the talking is done. It also helps you hold others accountable. After consultation with you, I can write a detailed brief about your child, their needs and best ways to support them academically and emotionally. I can also write an entire IEP (individualised education plan) for your child in cases where the school may not have available means to do so.

Direct Advisory to Schools

An online meeting with your child's support team to gather key information and brainstorm support strategies for your child. This can be a one off meeting or several over the course of the year.

Case Management

This is a complete package of all the above. In some instances I can act as a remote Learning Support Teacher providing key information, resources and support documentation along with remote check-ins with staff to ensure ongoing development is occurring.

Parenting Supports

Supporting a neurodiverse child can be challenging. I offer strategies and resources to use at home to help you reduce stress, frustration, and chaos as much as possible.
