Who Am I?

I’m Jonathan Climas, an Inclusion Consultant with over 15 years of experience in international education. I grew up in Hong Kong and attended international schools before beginning my career in local Hong Kong schools and moving on to international education. I’ve now lived and worked in Asia, Europe & Africa, gaining invaluable experiences and insights with each new opportunity. I excel at being a connector, facilitator, coach, advocate and teacher to all those involved in the educational journey of a learner.

Having been immersed in a blend of cultures since childhood I understand the challenges both adults and young people face when navigating different countries, cultures and educational systems. I also bring my own experiences of being a struggling learner to my work. In working with you I aim to create supportive and inclusive environments where every child feels seen and valued, and families feel heard and trusted.

I offer a range of inclusion services tailored to individual students and their families, as well professional development opportunities for schools.

I look forward to working with you.

How Can I Help?

Over the last 15 years I've worked as a Learning Support Teacher (Special Ed Teacher if you're in North America) and SENCO at different international schools. I've seen first-hand how international schools operate, I know they are not always the easiest or most welcoming places for neurodiverse children. I've seen how hard it is for families to communicate their child's needs in a way that will be heard and used by a school. I've also seen how hard it can be for educators who are expected to support neurodiverse children and yet are chronically under resourced and under supported.

I provide services to individual families so they better understand their child’s needs and can advocate effectively for them to ensure the required supports are put in place. I also provide parenting support services, so caregivers feel well-resourced when supporting their children.

I also work with whole organizations to ensure they have the required systems, policies and processes in place to meet the needs of their whole community. Professional development opportunities are also available depending on the needs of the organization.

I have the experience, knowledge, skills and network to find solutions that work for parents, educators and schools so their neurodiverse population can thrive.
